How this calculator works
The seasonal side uses our real published packages: Driveway Clear $599, Driveway + Salt $849, Total Winter Care $1,199, minus any early-bird or neighbour discounts you select. The per-visit side multiplies your storm count by typical Ajax on-demand rates: $50 per clearing for a single driveway, $80 for a double, around $100 for a triple, plus $35 per salting if selected. Ajax normally sees 15 to 25 plowable snowfalls between November and March, so the slider covers a light winter to a heavy one.

Questions about snow removal pricing
Why is a seasonal contract usually cheaper than per-visit?
Per-visit pricing charges you for every storm, and Ajax averages 15 to 25 plowable snowfalls a winter. At $50 to $80 each, that adds up past $1,000 in most winters. A seasonal contract is a flat rate, so every storm past the break-even point is effectively free, and a heavy winter can't blow up your budget.
What does the break-even number mean?
It's the number of storms where per-visit spending would pass the cost of the seasonal contract. If Ajax gets more storms than your break-even (it usually does), the contract wins. If you'd only ever clear a handful of storms and shovel the rest yourself, per-visit might suit you better.

The seasonal figures are North Ajax Snow Removal's real published rates for winter 2026-27. The per-visit figures are typical Ajax and Durham Region on-demand rates observed in 2026; individual operators vary. Triple and extra-long driveways are always quoted individually.
Does the seasonal price change if it snows more?
No. That's the point of a seasonal contract: unlimited visits at a 5 cm trigger for one flat price, November 1 to March 31, including the windrow at the end of your driveway. A 25-storm winter costs you exactly the same as a 12-storm winter.
